Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Law is ranked second out of 15 universities in Cyprus in the 2023 EduRank World Universities Ranking. The Faculty of Law of EMU started its educational activities in 1996 in cooperation with the Faculty of Law of Ankara University. The Faculty has more than 1500 students and over 3000 graduates, making it one of the leading institutions in the region. The Faculty provides education in the fields of private law, public law and international law at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The main mission of the Faculty is to train researchers who have a good knowledge of the concepts, rules, principles and sources of the legal profession, who have a sense of justice and who act in accordance with professional ethics and values.

 

EduRank is a system that evaluates the academic performance, research quality, student satisfaction, international visibility and social responsibility of universities. EMU was ranked as the best university in Cyprus in 2023. With these achievements, EMU's Faculty of Law has proven to be a pioneer in legal education in Cyprus and the region.

It organized a Workshop by the Faculty of Law at EMU with the participation of TRNC Personal Data Protection Commission members.

 

The monthly December meeting of the Personal Data Protection Commission was hosted by EMU on 1 December at the EMU Senate meeting room. The meeting was preceded by a workshop entitled "Rights Related to the Protection of Personal Data in the TRNC", which focused on the right to the protection of personal data and related rights. Asst. Prof. Dr. Can Azer from the EMU Faculty of Law participated with his presentation entitled "Right to Information and Personal Data Relationship". Faculty member of EMU Faculty of Law, Civil Law Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Emine Koçano Rodoslu participated in the workshop titled "Protection of Personal Data within the Scope of Personality Rights".
